BFFs

Two years ago today, I married my best friend. I know that's so cheesy and everyone says it, but I truly believe it. We've been together 8 years now and every day is an amazing adventure. Adam and I do almost everything together and we compliment each other so well. He's the yin to my yang, the peanut butter to my jelly and I can't imagine a day without him in it.

I'm having a tough time coping with the fact that in just a few short weeks he'll be living in Pittsburgh, 9 hours away from me, for at least 4 months.

My dearest friend, I'll miss you more than words can say and I can't wait for the day when I can join you in our new city.

  1. No, there is nothing cheesy at all about marrying your best friend. I think those are the marriages that work out the best. And if you keep your spouse as your best friend as time goes on, it gets even better.

I hope your time apart goes by quickly and smoothly. I know that will be difficult. The longest we have been apart in 19 years is five days. And even that short time can end up seeming long. Hang in there!

Happy anniversary to you both! Hope you have many, many more!

    1. Thanks Steve. It's definitely tough knowing that he'll be leaving me soon, especially since I want to get out of here so we won't be able to see each other much. The longest we've been apart is about 3 months back when I graduated from college and we had basically just started dating. This is going to be an interesting experience. I've got to find some hobbies to take up my time! :)

  2. I can't see how anyone can get married to anyone who is NOT their best friend. I mean, I see it all the time...and as I grow older I can appreciate a bit more how sometimes marriage isn't about true love...esp when children are involved.

But that is why I find myself a 31 year old bachelor. I want to be with someone...I want a family. But I can't imagine myself being committed to someone who is not only my best friend, but my soul mate...who inspires me in every single possible avenue of life, through mental physical and emotional things.

I've come close a few times, but there's always something missing...and I don't want to settle.

So...my point is...congrats! I am truly happy to see some of these REAL fairytale connections do happen. The next 4 months will be hard on you, but you have him still...and you have friends...to distract you. Good luck!
